Keeping our community safe is one of the most important jobs of the Mayor and City Council.
As Norfolk Mayor, I will support our law enforcement officers by ensuring they have appropriate personnel, equipment, facilities, and training. They also need competitive pay and affordable housing options so they can live in the city they serve. Additionally, they should have the same degree of accountability as any other city department.
I will ensure our police officers can focus on crime and work to build and strengthen partnerships within our neighborhoods, and with City of Norfolk departments, Hampton Roads partner cities and state government.
My mission is to ensure public safety is our city’s top priority. To fully prosper as a leading city, we must coexist harmoniously, free from violence and property crime. I will prioritize policies to make Norfolk’s citizens feel and be safe from social dangers and environmental hazards, without sacrificing our sacred civil and personal liberties.
